Pro-Western parties which won a narrow victory in last month's Ukrainian parliamentary election have struck a deal on forming the next government. President Viktor Yushchenko said there was no time to be lost after meeting fellow Orange Revolution veteran Yulia Tymoshenko in Kiev. Key priorities were higher living standards and anti-corruption, he said. Ms Tymoshenko, who was once sacked by Mr Yushchenko as prime minister, is tipped to return to the post. The coalition agreement initialled on Monday by her party, the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc, with Mr Yushchenko's party, Our Ukraine-People's Self-Defence, is due to be signed at the first sitting of the new parliament. First reports had suggested the signature would happen on Tuesday.
